For all you fans of hAnglar & stAnglar stamps - you'll soon be able to buy them in the UK as Karen from Funky Kits & Sugar Nellie is going to be producing and selling hAnglar & stAnglar stamps!!! Not sure when they'll be available but keep your eyes peeled :)
I made something! It's taken me long enough I know but who cares! I bought three of the new stamps designed by Elisabeth Bell at Funky Kits when they came out and finally got round to using one! Of course, it had to be the Kitty stamp which I think is adorable! Kitty stamp, gorgeous K & Co McKenna papers, a bit of background paper from Basic Grey 'Sugared', antique cream grosgrain ribbon, SU! ticket corner punch and the 'here kitty kitty' stamp is also SU! I can't remember what the set is called but I believe it's retired now - I bought it and another cat set from a fantastic seller on eBay. Now, this may surprise you but this is for my friend Kitty's birthday! Lol!
Another 25th today so lots of photos taken for Shimelle's Scrap Your Day project - pretty much the same as last month for me although I got some great photos of the sunset this month. Last month was hideous weather so it's nice to see the sunshine!
I've been working away on a circle journal entry and really struggling. My mojo and my enthusiasm seem to have left the country without me - apart from the cj I haven't made anything for days, not even a birthday card for my sister which has to be posted tomorrow!
These are the last 2 cards I made - this one is Lola with bunny from Sugar Nellie colored in with my Prismas, fabulous K&Co McKenna papers, a piece of paper ribbon from a Scrapagogo kit, flowers and brad from my stash & the Happy Birthday stamp is from Stamps Away!
This one was an experiment and kind of followed a tutorial on SplitcoastStampers - not sure if I like it but never mind! Bazzill cardstock, Making Memories Noteworthy paper and the stamp is from my SU! Doodle That set.
The new challenge went up over on the Tilda & Friends ATC blog - the new theme is 'Green' and I've not only done one ATC, I've done two!!! And on the day the challenge went up! A definite first for me :)
They're both using stamps from the Magnolia Spring stamp club and coloured in with Prismas - anyway here's my rather loose interpretation of green! This first ATC inspired the second one - I love the wee watering can!
I still haven't made my Dad's birthday card yet! I do have a couple of ideas but that's it. It was far too hot again today to contemplate doing a lot, I pretty much sat and read most of the day, made dinner (mackerel with watercress & spinach salad, delicious!) and pootled about in my craft room for a couple of hours before Doctor Who started :) I had another completed circle journal come home today - really chuffed as it looks gorgeous but also a bit miffed as there's a recipe using something tha I clearly stated in my rules that I'm allergic to & therefore didn't want any recipes with it in :(
I actually inked up one of my hAnglar & stAnglar stamps this afternoon and made a card - I shall be using the other 2 tomorrow as I've got loads of images to stamp for people! I thought this stamp looks really summery and perfect to use on a hot day! I think this is hÄngla med tråd but don't quote me on that, Basic Grey 'Cupcake' papers, SU! ticket corner punch (yay Tonya! I used it, thank you hun!), flower from this month's bloom kit fresh through the door this morning and a random brad from my box of thousands of the things!
It's been so warm here today - really grey and overcast but warm. And the best place to spend a few hours? Definitely not the hospital! Still, it means that I have an appointment free month for a change :) I didn't sleep well last night - thought I'd trapped a nerve in my arm again but touch wood it seems okay just now.
I love this hAnglar & stAnglar image - just wish I had the stamp :) It looks a bit out of kilter in the photo but it isn't really! Image colored in with Prismacolors, Basic Grey 'Sugared' patterned papers, random piece of ribbon and a Doodlebug heart shaped button. I really must get on with making my Dad's birthday card tomorrow - should really have done it today but nver mind!
I seem to be perpetually behind when it comes to the challenges over on the Tilda ATC challenge blog - without realising I'm now 4 weeks behind! I really need to get a card made for my Dad as it's his birthday next week and he's off to France with Mum for a couple of weeks - instead of getting on with it I managed to get a couple of the challenges done. The first ATC was for the 'Going Dotty' theme - totally uninspired for this one, I was going to use my Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder but completely forgot! I used some dotty/spotty paper from a previous Gogo kit and one of the new Tilda's from the Spring Stamp club.
The second one is for this weeks challenge, Bugs! I didn't have a clue what to do for this one - I was going to use the ladybug stamps I have from Cuddly Buddly but then I remembered I have the Magnolia butterflies. I stamped the grass - another Cuddly Buddly stamp - along the bottom, then used the 2 cloud stamps from the Spring Stamp club & coloured then in with Siam White Twinkling H2o, coloured the sky with a Prisma 'sky blue light' pencil, stamped the butterflies and added 'bug' using my ATB tape writer.
Well, I had a fab weekend away - I really loved seeing my pal and my beautiful god-daughter Bea. Being in Edinburgh also reminded me how much I love living in Scotland and how much I miss it too :( Oh well, am going back up at the end of May for 3 or 4 days so not too long between visits this time!
I finally got round to using one of my gorgeous stamps from here - I got 2 to start with, one of which looks like it's not for sale any more! This card is made using 'Julia' - I saw a card featuring this stamp on this fabulous blog and then spent about 3 hours tracking down the stamp! This is kind of a cardlift of the one I saw on Amy's blog - it certainly nudged me in the direction of what stash to use! 'Julia' stamp colored in with Prismas, SU! Mellow Moss c/s, Basic Grey 'Sultry' paper and SU! 'Always Artichoke' ribbon - yes, I'm actually using my scrummy SU! goodies instead of hoarding them! Now I've made this card I've had a fab idea for Christmas cards with the same stamp and also birthday cards for all of my book club friends :)
but I actually uploaded a card! Yes, I remembered to take a pic before it got too dark and I got too carried away playing with my April Gogo Greetings kit! And of course, after I uploaded this one I realised I meant to do the other one! Will (hopefully) get that one up tomorrow and maybe one of my Gogo cards using the scrummy MM 5th Avenue range - I think someone's trying to tell me something as I have 3 different lots from this range.....
Here's my card - it's a Breast Cancer charity Tilda colored in with with my Prisma's, Basic Grey 'Phoebe' papers (I only have about 5 sheets of the 6x6 pad left!), random piece of grosgrain ribbon and my attempt at snipping off the corners in a concave fashion! One of my fabby SBS 14 Sistahs has sent me a ticket corner punch from over the pond and I can't wait for it to turn up!
And time seems to be flying even quicker! I suddenly remembered that the recipe cj I'm in finishes in 9 days so I've got 2 entries to finish off (one is from when a cj went missing so I needed to re-do my pages) - can't wait to get it home but in the meantime I have cramp in my hand from working on them for so long tonight!
I promise there will be at least one card tomorrow but tonight I haven't got the energy to get up & find my camera! To keep you going go and have a sneak peek at the fab new range of stamps coming from Sugar Nellie - if you loved Holly Hobbie when you were little you're going to love these stamps!
My arm is still so sore! The most likely scenario is a trapped nerve, I'm so lucky - it's horrible and I can barely move it :( Still not gettng any quicker typing with my left hand but need to get in my time on the internet before H steals my laptop! The cyber crop has now finished but I have no idea who won - there were a lot of girls who managed to do challenges & classes therefore earning the Drama Queens hundreds of points! I actually had a go at scrapping this afternoon - didn't last too long but I was itching to do something so I painted my wee wooden mannequin with his first coat of gold paint.
Here's a card I made last week whilst my parents were here - it's another Stamping Bella fairy image that Cass stamped for me. This one has the fantastic name Eloise Greengrass! It's colored in with Prismas and a Sakura glitter pen, paper is Basic Grey 'Phoebe', the pink velvet ribbon is from a Little Silver Hat kit and the sentiment is Penny Black.
Woo!!!!!!!!! Just found out that the Drama Queens won the cyber crop!!! I can go to bed happy - really hope my arm feels good enough tomorrow to do some stamping!
that shopping was so tiring! I went to bed just before midnight last night and slept for nearly seven hours - not done that for a long time!!! My parents are still here but for tonight and tomorrow night they're staying in a hotel as my poor old Mum has put her back on sleeping on the air bed in my craft room! Ooops! No shopping today - instead we met up with family for lunch, we left at 11.30am and were back at 5pm! Lol! That always happens - lots of chatting and me catching everyone unawares with my camera! The place we always eat at wasn't quite so good today as they messed up just about everything we ordered and they don't do profiteroles any more! Mum and I had to make do with sharing a chocolate brownie :)
My shopping trip yesterday was good - I finally spent my Accessorize voucher and got these two lush bags! The one in the second pic is going to be my new book bag - the one I made finally gave up last week when the stitching all came apart!
Anyway, in case you all leave here's a card! This one of the Tildas that Magnolia sell to raise funds for breast cancer research - I think she's gorgeous! Papers are Basic Grey 'Phoebe', flower from Rebecca, button is BG 'Two Scoops' and the ribbon was a random piece I found in one of my ribbon boxes!
Off to bed now as we're hopefully off to Whitby tomorrow if the weather is good - if not we're going to the Designer Outlet Centre for more shopping!
What an exciting day here! It's been horribly mundane as my parents arrive tomorrow to stay for the week! I've been dusting, hoovering, ironing and doing laundry so the house looks halfway decent - I think the only way that'll happen is if someone knocks the place down and starts again! I still need to clean the bathroom and hang the new curtains in my scrap room - it's doubling as a bedroom (with a blow-up mattress) for the week so not going to get much done this week. Totally worth it though as it'll be fab to see M & D and I get to go shopping, hopefully for a new computer!
Anyway, here's one of the cards I made over the last couple of days! It's loosely based on the latest SCS sketch challenge - I messed it up in my usual inimitable way! Lol! I used Tilda with ice cream colored in with Prismacolor pencils, Basic Grey 'Cupcake' papers - when I first got the pad I wondered what on earth I was going to do with the ice cream paper but now I know the answer, buy a stamp that has ice cream! The red card is Stampin' Up! Real Red, the flower and those teeny weeny glass marbles (that get everywhere!) are from Rebecca and the sentiment is Penny Black :) I might have another go at this card but change things round a bit.
I made a card! I did it! Although I don't know if I like it!
Been a funny old day today - not in the 'ha ha' sense either! Had to rush off to the docs for an emergency appointment as one of my beautiful mogs sliced the back of my hand open & I needed a couple of butterfly stitches! It wasn't the cat's fault though, we had a complete idiot knocking on both the front & side door trying to sell fascias and double glazing - it upset the indoor mogs but Lump decided to scratch me as I was taking off his collar to replace it at the time! I also got a free book today - it's for a review group and means I was one of 20 lucky people to get a copy before it's published!
Completely random but does anyone know where I can get A*Muse stamps from in the UK? I came across a couple that I just have to have whilst blog hopping earlier but as yet haven't had any luck finding a stockist.
Back to business - here's the card I -finally - made! No joking, it took me over 3 hours but I think that's because I was sat in my room reading at the same time! It's the gorgeous new Rachelle Anne Miller stamp 'Penelope' that was available only as a mini kit with some cute 6x6 papers by Daisy Bucket(?) from Funky Kits - I used one of the sheets of paper, a small piece of Bazzill Bling, the ribbon is from a Little Silver Hat kit, the flowers & silver button are from this month's blossom kit by Rebecca and last but not least, my fab 'Wonderful' stamp :)
You can tell I went on a bit of a spree last week - our poor postie always has to knock when I do as it won't all fit through the letterbox! Lol! Post was here early today so I got to use my lovely new stamps straight away. First of all though, I had to finish off my ATC for the current Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge - the theme this week was 'Cooking It Up', we had a recipe of 1 bow, 2 flowers, 3 colors & 4 brads or gems. I used a scrap of Love, Elsie 'Betty' paper, a Tilda image from a recent swap colored in with 3 colors, 2 flowers with a brad in the centre and 3 more brads in the bottom right hand corner. As I was loading the photo on here I noticed that the '1 bow' had fallen off but it was too dark to go back and take another pic so will get one tomorrow - she does have bows in her trousers so that will do til then! Flowers are from a kit by Rebecca and the brads are from a swap on UKS a couple of months ago :)
My new goodies today were all stamps - 4 more Tildas from Sir Stampalot bringing my grand total of Magnolia stamps up to 35, the 3 new Lola stamps by Rachelle Anne Miller at Funky Kits - looks like Lola's Tea Party & Teddy Two are out of stock & the wee kit with Penelope in is gone completely! I also snuck in another Bella with my FK kit - Cuppacakeabella, one of my favourites so far!
I'm selling some more books on that auction site this week so hopefully I'll make enough pennies to treat myself to a couple more soon! Or I might treat myself to a Cricut cart :) Off to bed to read as H is watching Dragnet for the 999th time - I kid you not!
It's been a gorgeous day here today - beautiful sunshine for most of it! I've been busy doing cybercrop stuff today, including the 'before' & 'after' photo challenge! This was my scrap room this morning with about 25 minutes in between the pictures :)
Yes, there actually is a table - and quite a large one at that! Lol! Of course, having cleared it I didn't want to mess it up again so what did I do? I got my paints and stuff out! I'm re-doing my door hanger for the cyber crop as I had a fab idea involving opal dust - I also have a huge wooden 'F' that I'm finally getting round to decorating.
The first of my stash from last week's little splurge arrived this morning - my lovely postie in the van brought me a nice big box with goodies in and then the normal postie turned up with a couple more little parcels! While the van postie was here I asked him if I could take his photo later on in the week when he delivers my gorgeous bright yellow Scrapagogo box and he said yes! Lol! Now, let me explain - I'm not nuts nor do I 'fancy' my postie - there have been a couple of pics over the last few months on posting days of posties complete with yellow boxes, L & J have entered into the spirit and we now have a 'postie pin-up' gallery :)
Anyway, here's the goodies I got today - the first picture is a ATB phrase maker, 2 sets of gorgeous Dream Street papers and a blank tabbed journal all from the very lovely Rebecca & the second picture is 2 sets of Penny Black stamps, 'Critter Party' and 'Bubbly' and a gorgeous Hampton Arts wood mounted stamp. Hopefully tomorrow my new Tildas and Sugar Nellies will arrive!
Yes, as well as a card we now have a box! Lol! It was a really rotten day here today - grey, miserable and wet! As H was out and Grandad is in one of his less sociable moods at the moment I took myself off to my scrap room all day. It's nice & cozy in there - would be more so if the curtains were up and we have a week to hang them as my parents arrive a week tomorrow :)
Anyway, this was a challenge from Papertake by Claudia - I'd seen these gorgeous boxes on a couple of blogs so finally got round to clicking on the link to have a look at the challenge! I had a go this afternoon and here is my finished box - by the time I'd finished it off we had brilliant sunshine! Crazy British weather! I was a bit nervous about having a go as I'm hopeless at doing things like that but I think it turned out pretty good for my first attempt. I'm going to keep all my Magnolia stamped images in the box as at the moment I have them stored in a 12x12 baggie! Papers are from Love, Elsie 'Betty', the chipboard hearts are covered with more 'Betty' paper, a random piece of ribbon and Tilda wearing heart dress - my favourite stamp which I now own and is wending its way to me!
Here's another card too - I saw a similar idea on a couple of blogs, with the corner turned down but I can't remember exactly where! A general thank you for the fab idea - it helped me disguise the fact that I'd leant on my paper and creased the corner quite badly!!! The Tilda image is from a recent swap, the sentiment is Banana Frog Retro Greetings and the paper, Bazzill & brad are all from March's Scrapagogo Greetings kit :)
New batteries are in the camera and the spare set are charging away as I type! I've had a really lazy day today - H has been home and he should have been in London til Monday so I've not dared get my Expression out! One good thing about him being home is that I managed to convince him to cut me 40 4x4 mountboard squares for my fat pages - I had a go but it's just too thick for me so I gave up after cutting 2! Lol!
I've fallen off the stash diet wagon again - only a tiny bit though! Funky Kits got three new Rachelle Anne Miller stamps in - one of which is only available in a mini kit. I thought I'd missed out on them as I was in my scrap room when the emails went out and mine went straight into my junk folder so I didn't see it when I got back on. Imagine my surprise when I discovered they were still available - I must have been destined to buy them so all 3 hopped in my shopping cart! I also bought some Penny Black stamps yesterday after holding out for a long long time! But I have some extra money this month so I've decided that it was all for treats :)
I've been playing with my new Bella's the last couple of days - here's my first ever Bella card, Bookwormabella! Papers are from the March Gogo Greetings kit (I'm ashamed to say I can't remember what they're called - I vaguely remember Scenic Route or Wild Saffron?) Bazzill cardstock embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, yellow ribbon from the Scrapagogo kit as is the chipboard button.
I also got my gorgeous Sugar Nellie 'Maggie' stamps out this is Maggie wearing a heart jumper! Papers, ribbon and chipboard button are all from my Scrapagogo kit again!
but luckily no more snow so I managed to get to the hospital & back okay! I have to go back in 2 weeks to find out when I'm getting my hip done which is finally going to happen! Apart from the trip to the hospital I've also made chocolate cherry muffins and I experimented with some lavender to make cupcakes. I think I added just the right amount of lavender, slightly less than the recipe recommended, I think any more would have been over-powering! Grandad's not too keen on them so I shall just have to eat them all myself - thankfully I only made 12!
Not too sure about today's card - it's the card I mentioned the other day using one of my precious hAnglar & stAnglar stamps. I used Basic Grey 'Boxer' papers and the sentiment is by Aud. I can't put my finger on it but there's something not quite 'right' about it :(
Yes, we got some but no, it didn't settle :( Obviously the snow was storing itself up from yesterday as we had 3 or 4 rather heavy blizzards - shame it was too wet to settle but I'm also quite glad as I'm at the hospital again and wouldn't that have just been so much fun getting there!
Amanda, he most certainly still does have it! I loved the show (and Mr Tennant!) so much I had to watch it again this morning along with the last 2 episodes of Torchwood. Oh my! Why couldn't someone have warned me I would need the hankies out?! And just look at this fab pic of DT I found earlier this evening!
Anyway, moving on from my David Tennant/Doctor Who/Torchwood obsession here's today's card! Magnolia 'Love Tilda' colored in with Prisma's, Basic Grey 'Cupcake' papers, ribbon from a Little Silver Hat kit and stamp by Aud!
It's been a lovely day here - snow was forecast up on the moors so was expecting it to be really cold but we had gorgeous, bright sunshine nearly all day! I was in the sandpit all afternoon just about - lots of good tv tonight - but didn't really get much done. I finally used one of my precious hAnglar & stAnglar images that I received from Charlie as part of a blog candy prize. I think I still have 5 images left but I'll be hoarding them until I get my mitts on some of the stamps - hopefully that will be quite soon thanks to a lovely fellow Stash Dieter!
Here's 2 of the 3 ATC's I did yesterday - now completely up to date with the challenges over on the Tilda & Friends ATC blog! I showed H the 3rd one and he agreed it was dreadful so it's now in pieces in the bin. First challenge was to use yellow and blue - this is Farmer Tilda colored in with Prisma's, background paper is from the Papermania Retro Floral paper pack and the yellow ribbon is from this month's Scrapagogo Create kit.
The second ATC was to fit the challenge of using checks - this is another of my favourite Tilda's but I don't have the stamp, just a couple of images which I've now used :( Both the checked paper and the plain green peeping out at either end are Basic Grey Two Scoops along with a BG Two Scoops button.
I didn't realise I was so far behind with the challenges over on the Tilda & friends ATC challenge blog - 3 weeks!!! I'd missed out on Chocolate, Blue & Yellow and Checks - I managed to get all 3 done tonight but one of the ATC's, Chocolate, will never be seen by another living human being as it's decidedly carp! I'll put the other 2 on here tomorrow!
Today's card - yet another of my favorite Tilda stamps, Tilda with hat! Papers are Basic Grey 'Two Scoops' again, ribbon is from Making Memories and round sentiment is, again, from Aud.
Found another excellent book challenge today - unfortunately it means I'll have to buy some more new books as I can't find a couple on my list anywhere. Cybercrop madness continues - actually did one of the pre-crop challenges today and made a 'keep out' door hanger for my scrap room! I've been really good and not bought any kits at all, not even the mystery kit!
It's 5p listing day over on that auction site so I've spent literally all day listing books! I've got 50 that I want to part with - rare for me! - but there are some new releases coming up that I really want, plus I want to buy a couple more Cricut cartridges! I didn't list all of them today but at least I've done the photos so I can put them on when I feel like it. I got some gorgeous new stamps today - my sister finally coughed up some money she owed me so I bought a couple of sets from here! They're so cute and will look great on cards with the Magnolia Tilda and Edwin stamps.
Here's another card - this stamp is one of my favourite Tilda's! Tilda in petticoats coloured in with Prisma's, Basic Grey 'Two Scoops' paper, BG 'Two Scoops' buttons and the round sentiment is by Aud.
I had a rather lovely mail day today - just look what my lovely fellow S.A.D. Tash made for me!
Absolutely gorgeous and just the right colours that I could pin it on my bag :) I also got my Stampin' Up order today as well so more new stamps! I got 2 stamp sets - Happy Hearts and Doodle That - along with a pack of Whisper White cardstock. Of course I had them all tidied away before H got home from work so you can't even tell that my rather small stack of SU! stamps has increased slightly!
Here's today's card which I made for Grandad to say thank you for putting my scrap room together and building all my shelving! He seemed to like it so it can't be as bad as I think it is. I used Handyman Edwin coloured in with Prisma's, papers are Basic Grey 'Boxer', flowers are from a previous kit by Rebecca, the brad is from my stash and the 'thank you' stamp is Penny Black. I can't believe I'm using all my new BG so soon after buying it - if I'm not careful I'm actually going to run out of some!!!
I had some pennies sitting in my Pp account so I thought I'd treat myself - I finally got round to buying myself some Bella's from Stamping Bella! I only got 4 - Clickabella, Cakeabella, Tinkerbella & Bookwormabella - but they are absolutely fab stamps, really cute! I wasn't sure I liked them but I have to say after stamping a load out tonight I think I may be getting some more :)
Here's tonight's card - it's Tilda with the teeny frog & colored in with Prisma's! Papers are Basic Grey Sugared and the stamp - which is one of my favourites just now! - is totally unknown, well to me anyway!
I've been chasing round after the cats most of the day trying to get new photos of them for this competition - I think they're all heartily sick of me! Actually went out today - to the library! I came home with nineteen books - ooops! Off to make a start on decreasing that pile!
